The week in music: Damien Jurado, Hold Steady, Palehound, My Gold Mask

Damien Jurado released an excellent new album, Brothers and Sisters of the Eternal Son, this past week. While Together Pangea’s  Badillac was my favorite new release, I thought Mogwai’s Rave Tapes and Jack Name’s Light Show were also interesting albums.

The Hold Steady gave us a taste of its new album, Teeth Dreams, with the song I Hope This Whole Thing Didn’t Frighten You. The new album is due out in late March.

Palehound shared Holiest, half of a 7-inch planned for next month.

And Chicago’s My Gold Mask has a new song, Battles.
