The mighty Bass Drum of Death plays Empty Bottle Thursday night. After delivering a blast of punk energy on last year’s self-titled album, the band is playing some Midwest and Canadian shows before heading East and then eventually back to home state Mississippi. The album is honestly one of the most fun releases I heard in 2013. It’s recommended if you like Ty Segall, Wavves, Thee Oh Sees and the scores of other great cave-stomping rockers.
A pair of Chicago bands open: Blasted Diplomats and the Lemons. Both are worth checking out. The Lemons are playing a release show.
