The best album release this week is Cold Beat’s Over Me, an explosive record from Grass Widow’s Hannah Lew. If you’re a fan of Frankie Rose, Dum Dum Girls, the Vivian Girls and related bands, you’ll definitely like this debut.
On first listen, I didn’t think Lew really veered far enough from the Vivian-Dum Dum Girl sound. But after a few more spins, I realized this album was actually very original and thoroughly enjoyable. It comes highly recommended.
