Earlier this year, John Dwyer announced that his longtime band Thee Oh Sees will be known simply as Oh Sees. Now Dwyer returns to another old moniker, OCS, which may or may not stand for Orange County Sound.
Dwyer, a prolific garage rocker who has been a force in the San Francisco and LA indie music scenes, slows things down on this title track to the upcoming OCS album, Memory of a Cut Off Head. The album is expected out in November.
Mind you, Dwyer just released the very good Orc as Oh Sees. But this new song sounds much different than the hard psychedelic rock of Orc, which is similar to the last two Thee Oh Sees albums. Confused?
Going strong for two decades, Dwyer also fronted the frenetic Coachwhips.
