The Liminanas is a French psychedelic duo (Lio and Marie Liminana) that’s been trickling out cool music since 2009.
Last year’s very good Malamore was released on the mighty Chicago record label HoZac. Another great Chicago label, Trouble In Mind, released a pair of early albums.
The band is about to release an EP, Istanbul Is Sleepy, November 17 and a full-length album is expected next year. While Liminanas is not a household name in the U.S., the latest offerings are likely to get a little more attention here with the help of the band’s new collaborator and kindred spirit Anton Newcombe, frontman and founder of Brian Jonestown Massacre.
Liminanas music should appeal to fans of Moon Duo, Wooden Shjips and, of course, Brian Jonestown Massacre.
