It’s been four years since the last Iceage album, the excellent Plowing Into the Field of Love.
Fortunately, Beyondless is another strong offering from the Danish punks.
The sound is essentially in line with past albums but with a twist. For one, there are the horns and guest vocals of Sky Ferreira on Pain Killer, a highlight on the new release. The Day the Music Dies is another big song, again complete with a lot of horns.
There’s an interesting mix of genre experimentation throughout the album, though the punk ethos is present in each song.
This is a good album. Grab it.
