Barcelona band Mourn caught our attention a few years ago with its self-titled debut album. Following a second release, the band had to resolve a legal dispute with its former Spanish record label.
Lucky for us, Mourn is back with a new album, the angular and energetic Sorpresa Familia.
“This album sums up everything we’ve lived during the past two years,” the band says in its publicity material. “We got everything out, we liberated ourselves and now we’re ready for everything that comes up.”
In Chicago, we’re also lucky that Mourn is playing Empty Bottle in support of the new release on Tuesday.
