For the first time in six years, producer Matthew Dear has released an album under his name.
Dear’s music often is defined in multiple ways. Electronic, post punk, experimental pop are some of the descriptions. Whatever you want to call Dear’s latest offering, Bunny, the album is exciting and full of energy.
It’s an intriguing mix throughout, from the opener Bunny’s Dream to the collaborations with Tegan and Sara (Horses, Bad Ones) to the industrial-inspired Echo.
Dear is playing Chicago’s Sleeping Village November 15.
