The Long Ryders were alternative country stars of the 1980s — before that label even existed.
Along with Green on Red and Jason and the Scorchers, they melded the spirit of punk and soul of country in an era in which those two genres seemed incongruent.
Now, 30 years after the release of their last album, the band is back with the upcoming Psychedelic Country Soul.
The first track released, Greenville, is a good one.
Looking forward to this album, which is out February 15.
