Deerhunter brings new music to Chicago over two nights

In live shows, Deerhunter has been rolling out its new songs from the recently released album Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared?

Judging by recent set lists, four to six new songs could be performed at shows in Chicago this weekend. Overall, Disappeared is a bleak album, albeit one with a number of standout tracks. Listening to them mixed in with songs from Monomania, Microcastle, Crypograms and other past releases should be interesting.

Deerhunter kicks off its two-night stand at the Art Institute of Chicago for Pitchfork’s inaugural Midwinter festival Saturday. On Sunday, the band plays Lincoln Hall. Both shows are sold out.
