Lou Barlow’s band Sebadoh dates back to the 1980s and has featured multiple lineups. On Act Surprised, the band’s first studio release in six years, Barlow is joined again by Jason Loewenstein and drummer Bob D’Amico.
The result is a really good album, equal parts Barlow and Loewenstein, that will appeal to longtime fans and should draw new ones.
Sebadoh plays a sold-out show at Evanston’s Space Friday, the day the new album is released.
