This is the third of six recommended new indie albums I’m featuring this week.
On its second album, Uneasy Laughter, LA band Moaning recalls Joy Division, New Order and all the music that those great bands influenced.
After an angsty self-titled debut rocker two years ago, Moaning frontman Sean Solomon made some changes in his life. He got sober and became a voracious reader, two things that he says influenced the band’s newest songs.
Sonically, Uneasy Laughter is pure pleasure. Moaning’s music is incredibly catchy and yet has a genuine approach.
