FACS’ Void Moments: Six albums in six days

This is the fourth of six recommended new indie albums I’m featuring this week.

The band FACS no doubt wants to shed the image as the spin-off of Disappears. It’s been more than three years since that excellent Chicago band, umm, disappeared.

And while FACS has churned out consistently good music in its short history, Void Moments is the group’s best release so far.

It’s bleak and brooding and definitely not a feel good album. But hey, feel-good albums aren’t exactly in vogue right now.

Void Moments is, in fact, as advertised, “dark and claustrophobic.” That’s the band’s own description.

I’ll add to that it’s compelling and fascinating, too.
