There’s no reason anyone ever heard of Eddie Criss Group, an obscure band that made one album, Undertaker, in 1980.
That’s where Chicago’s HoZac record labels comes in. HoZac has made a reputation of finding very cool early punk music.
“Behold the Undertaker LP from the elusive Eddie Criss Group, released to minimal fanfare in 1980,” HoZac boss Todd Novak says in a recent email. “Little to no information really exists on the band … a short-lived studio-only project that employed the MC-5’s legendary Wayne Kramer on blistering lead guitar on every track.”
