Stooges’ legendary performance resurrected

In August 1970, the Stooges played their last show as an original lineup. An allegedly incoherent bassist Dave Alexander was fired by the band right after the performance at Goose Lake Festival, Michigan’s answer to Woodstock.

What we hear on the newly released Live at Goose Lake: August 8, 1970 is a sloppy, drug-fueled Stooges playing just prior to the release of the band’s second album Fun House. (Listen to the live title track below.)

Jack White’s Third Man Records remastered and released the live album, which is essential listening for any fan of Iggy Pop and his seminal former band.
