Released this past Friday, Death Takes a Holiday is a “spooky split” release between two interesting East Coast underground songwriters who perform as Bad History Month and Nyxy Nyx.
Nyxy Nyx is Brian Reichert of Philadelphia and Bad History Month is Sean Sprecher of Boston. The split, released on Exploding In Sound Records, pairs a couple of like-minded indie artists.
Nyxy Nyx is a little more quiet, while Sprecher’s Bad History Month builds his songs to climactic finishes.
Reichert and Sprecher each contributes five songs, which do have a bit of a haunting sound.
