Mark Lanegan, the great singer-songwriter, dead at 57

Mark Lanegan fronted Screaming Trees and was a member of Queens of the Stone Age but he also made excellent music as a solo artist and with multiple collaborators.

It was a shock to hear he died at 57. His death was confirmed through his social media accounts. The cause of death was not given.

There are many highlights but Bubblegum stands out. That album featured a number of guests, including P.J. Harvey, Josh Homme and Izzy Stradlin.

His collaborations included Greg Dulli of Afghan Whigs and Isobel Campbell of Belle & Sebastian.

He was a great talent and will be sorely missed.
