J.T. IV is the performance name of John Henry Timmis IV, an obscure artist who performed outsider punk music in the ’80s.
Timmis may be slightly better known for directing The Cure for Insomnia, which holds a world record for longest movie at 87 hours in length. The 3 1/2 day movie features another artist reading his more than 4,000-page poem.
Chicago’s Drag City previously released a collection of Timmis’ songs, Cosmic Lightning, in 2008.
His music has a ’70s punk and glam aura.
Drag City now is set to release another 19 newly discovered tracks by Timmis Friday on an album titled The Future.
