Layered Presence is a song from the upcoming album by Tortoise titled Touch.
Touch will be the first album in nine years from this long-running, multi-genre indie band that originally formed in Chicago.
There have been various lineups through the band’s 35-year history, which is now made up of Dan Bitney, John Herndon, Douglas McCombs, John McEntire and Jeff Parker. The bandmates live in Chicago, Los Angeles and Portland and the new album was recorded in all three cities.
A show is scheduled for Chicago’s historic Auditorium Theatre with the Chicago Philharmonic orchestra Nov. 11.
