Welsh band the Tubs ripped through more than a dozen songs during a high-energy set at Schubas Saturday night.
Frontman Owen Williams announced that the show was the band’s fourth appearance in Chicago in 2025.
“How many bands from Wales played Chicago four times this year?” Williams asked the crowd.
Williams and his crew are promoting the excellent Cotton Crown, the band’s second album.
A mix of jangle rock tunes that will stick in your head, Cotton Crown is one of my favorite albums this year.
The Tubs played songs from both the new release and the band’s 2023 debut Dead Meat. A cover of the Undertones’ Teenage Kicks was thrown in for an encore.
