Jeff Tweedy brings Twilight Override to Chicago’s Salt Shed

It’s not often that an established artist devotes almost all of a live set to brand-new songs.

Then again, Jeff Tweedy’s 30-track album Twilight Override is not your typical new release.

Earlier this month, the Wilco frontman treated fans at Chicago’s Salt Shed to 17 new songs from Twilight. The crowd loved every second.

Twilight Override is clearly Tweedy’s labor of love, and it is a very special album, most likely the best release this year.

Jeff is joined on the album and this tour by his sons Spencer and Sammy as well as Macie Stewart, Sima Cunningham and Liam Kazar.

There were so many highlights. Among my favorite songs: Caught Up in the Past, Enough, Forever Never Ends, One Tiny Flower and Stray Cats in Spain. But, honestly, there’s not a bad song on the new album.

The Salt Shed is a massive, impressive venue. It does take a great band to fill the room and Tweedy had no problem there.
