It’s officially a release by “Parkay Quarts” as primarily two band members recorded this new album in two weeks. But Content Nausea is a continuation of what Parquet Courts started on the fantastic Sunbathing Animal, which was released earlier this year. At 35 minutes and including two covers, it’s not quite an equal to Sunbathing Animal but the new release definitely complements.
Highlights include the title track, Pretty Machines, a cover of the obscure 13th Floor Elevators‘ track Slide Machine and the 6 1/2 minute closer Uncast Shadow of a Southern Myth.
The digital version of the album is out today and the physical release will be out in early December. I recommend it.
