Acquaintances is a Chicago-based band of indie rock vets who first got together seven years ago.
These guys really bring it on 8 1/2 Lives, the band’s second album, and, on Saturday, they’ll play a record-release show at Empty Bottle.
The sound is cool garage rock that nods to the bands these guys have played with. Guitar and vocals are handled by Jered Gummere (the Ponys), Justin Sinkovich (the Poison Arrows) and Stephen Schmidt (Thumbnail). Patrick Morris (Don Caballero) plays bass and Chris Wilson (Ted Leo + Pharmacists) plays drums.
Saturday’s show will be only the band’s second performance after Thursday’s show in Bloomington, Illinois.
