Pitchfork fest abandons Chicago after two decades

Pitchfork said Monday that it will not bring its annual music festival back to Chicago in 2025.

After curating the short-lived Intonation Music Festival, Pitchfork was held every year but one at Union Park on Chicago’s West Side since 2006. (It skipped only the COVID pandemic year in 2020.)

The festival was an important musical fixture in the city and it’s a huge loss for it to go.

There are too many good memories to count, though I may follow up with some highlights over the years in the coming days.
