Jeff Tweedy just wrapped up a three-night stand at the legendary FitzGerald’s in Berwyn, just west of Chicago.
I saw the first night’s set, which was packed with classic Wilco songs and selections from his side projects and solo work.
Tweedy was engaged with the audience while playing riveting acoustic versions of many of his best-known songs.
It was a great warmup for Wilco’s return to Chicago in December.
By the way, Tweedy released a new video for Enough to mark the one-year anniversary of Twilight Override, my favorite album last year.
Pet Fox is a band you gotta check out. This three-piece includes Ovlov drummer Theo Hartlett, and it’s just really good indie guitar rock — much like Ovlov.
The band plans to release its new album Balance Oct. 23.
So far, these guys have put out two singles, the title track and the just-released Avoidant. Listen below.
Love You is a four-song release by the high-energy Loose Lips out of Melbourne.
It’s, um, highly recommended.
It’s almost Bandcamp Friday. Take a little time to explore and find new bands. Or support a favorite artist.
